Translation Training at Nakano Ward Comprehensive Disaster Prevention Drill

On Sunday, 9th November, we participated in the ‘Nakano Ward Comprehensive Disaster Prevention Drill’ at Heiwa no Mori Elementary School. ANIC set up a ‘Multilingual Information Centre’ and, with the cooperation of volunteer interpreters and translators, translation training was conducted from Japanese into various languages, simulating the information required during a disaster. Translations were provided into English, Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, Arabic, and Easy Japanese. Additionally, approximately 110 people in the stamp rally visited the ANIC booth, to whom volunteers explained the concept of ‘Easy Japanese’.
