On Saturday, July 12th, disaster prevention leaders from the Nakano Ward local disaster prevention association and foreign disaster prevention leaders attended a training session on “Easy Japanese” at the West Wing of Nakano ZERO Building.

The instructor was Ms. Mariko Nakayama, Representative Director of the NPO Multicultural Children’s Independence Support Center, and ANIC’s Easy Japanese Supporters joined each group to provide support.

First, we gave an overview of “Easy Japanese.”

Next, key points for translation were explained and the participants tried their hand at translating.

Finally, foreign disaster prevention leaders played as assistants and the paraphrased Japanese in a simple way was delivered to them orally.

The disaster prevention leaders of the disaster prevention association and the foreign disaster prevention leaders also tried it. The foreign disaster prevention leader as an assistant said, “It’s difficult,” and everyone was shocked.
