First aid training at Yayoi Japanese Language School!
On Wednesday, July 16th, at the Yayoi Community Center, a first aid training session following an initial firefighting training session with the cooperation of the Nakano Fire Department was held. 18 people participated.
First, we learned how to perform cardiac massage. One volunteer said, “I don’t know if it’s okay to perform cardiac massage or not, so I’m worried if I’ll be able to do it when it’s actually happening.”
Next, we learned how to use an AED. We were told that the AED automatically gives instructions and makes decisions, so all we have to do is follow the instructions. Therefore, it’s a good idea to always check where it is.
The children were undergoing training at school, so it was the first-time experience for the adults, including the volunteers.
