Aiming to connect people in the Saginomiya area, the Nakano Ward Social Welfare Council, the NPO HATI JAPAN and Association for Nakano International Communications (ANIC) have worked together to create various opportunities.

To commemorate the third anniversary, a ‘Third Anniversary Report Meeting’ was held on 17 May (Sat) at the Saginomiya West Residence Community Hall with the cooperation of the Saginomiya Sukoyaka Welfare Centre and the Care Mane Ondo Popularisation Association.

On the day of the event, information was broadcast in Japanese, Nepali and Chinese, to do that many Chinese and Nepali parents and children participated. For Nepali, we asked a fifth-year Nepalese primary school girl studying Japanese at Association for Nakano International Communications (ANIC). She prepared a script in Japanese and Nepali well in advance with her father, and practiced many times for the day of the event so that she was able to broadcast very calmly. At the ‘Tea Corner’ booth, three Chinese students studying Japanese made Chinese tea, and Japanese language volunteers supported them to liven things up.

The most exciting part of the ‘Third Anniversary Report Meeting’ was the cotton candy given after answering the quiz on recycling and the performance of Cares’ Dance. The children looked cute and amusing when dancing by watching others. Everyone had a great time.

Despite the bad weather, ‘Third Anniversary Report Meeting’, attended by around 80 people, allowed people in the Saginomiya area to connect with each other in a way that was different from their usual activities.
