The ‘How to Enjoy Nice Chinese Tea’ Event Was Held

We invited a chageishi (tea art master) from the Xicheng (Seijo) district in Beijing, the friendship district of Nakano. The master presided over the  ‘How to Enjoy Chinese Tea’ event which was enjoyed by approximately thirty.  There are various types of tea, such as green tea, yellow tea, black tea (Puerh tea), red tea (English black tea), blue tea (Oolong tea), and white tea.  The methods for making tea depend upon varieties of tea leaves.  This time, we tasted white tea from Anji (Ankitsu) in Zhejiang (Sekko-sho) and jasmine tea that is popular in Beijing. White tea, which was harvested this year has white leaves with yellow green veins.  We enjoyed the interesting yellowish green color of white tea.  Wonderful scent of the jasmine tea, which is a green tea scented by jasmine spread in the hall.

At the second half of event, all participants tried a handcraft called liuso, Chinese fringe.  Each chose their favorite color of materials and made their own fringe with help of the guests from Xicheng.
